Artists Advocate for Funding in Wawarsing
Art advocates are asking the Town of Wawarsing to contribute to the Ellenville Arts Alliance as an economic development tool. The Village of Ellenville has already contributed to the fund. The presense of artists in a community is often a revitalizing force for gentrification. Other areas like Hudson have seen an economic ripple effect after promoting and attracting artists. Gentrification increases property values and desireabilty.
