Highland (The Town of Lloyd) is becoming an increasingly popular destination. The Highland area has a small community atmosphere.

Highland is an excellent location for commuters. It is positioned on the west side of the Hudson River, across from Poughkeepsie and the Mid-Hudson Bridge connects the two municipalities. Commuters take advantage of the short drive to the Poughkeepsie train station to hop on the Metro-North Railroad line to Grand Central Station. There are several townhouse and condo complexes which are located close to the bridge. It is also well positioned in relation to Newburgh and Kingston.

Along the Hudson River there are beautiful luxury riverfront homes. Throughout Highland there are small neighborhoods and private secluded properties.

The Hudson Valley Rail Trail in Highland is a converted and paved train track for walking, running and bike path. The Rail Trail connects directly to the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge which spans the Hudson River at the Walkway Over the Hudson. Black Creek Wetlands Complex is part of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail. Black Creek is accessible via the stairs to the creek. Tony Williams Park is a complex of sports fields, basketball and tennis courts and a playground for children. The Tony Williams Park is the furthest west part of the developed trail.

The wise investor will look at Highland as an area with incredible potential. The quietly growing community is central to transportation Routes 9W and 299 holds investment opportunities for both Commercial and Industrial ventures.
