Walkway over Hudson will get big commitment from Gov. Spitzer
In his State of the State address, Governor Spitzer announced that the state was prepared to make a major investment into transforming the Poughkeepsie Railroad bridge into a historic park. If plans to transform the bridge come to fruition, it will be a great boon to both Highland and Poughkeepsie, which sit at the west and east connections of the bridge. It would surely be a tourist attraction and a great recreational resource. The presence of the bridge would also potentially enhance real estate values in Highland and Poughkeepsie.
